No one is going to buy that stuff. I have seen stuff that looks similar to this sell for more money than i'm asking on here (The large slabs cost under $2 each.. I didn't do the match but I know I have more than 50). If noone wants em noone wants them... but if someone does (at least 4 people are interested hence why I put up more pics) than you make a false statement.

At Q a bunch of people were talking about your rocks and laughing at you. No one who knows what they are doing wants that stuff.

Ok well I will probably sell them elsewhere or use them myself.
I guess my prehnite is probably worthless as well..
I don't see why you guys compliment other peoples slabs / cabs that have the same quality (or worse) than mine.. just be honest and tell them as well.
I'm still waiting for people to take up my request and sell me common worthless rocks like bornite, michigan copper, crysocholla, mixed color jasper, opalites and other common stuff that I don't have in my area..

Glenn, In case you missed it KAP responded to your request and offered to send you a mfr box full of colorful agates and jaspers for the same price($50)you were asking for a mfr box of your material. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/69166/alaskan-rock-mix-sign-list?page=3Larry C.

At Q a bunch of people were talking about your rocks and laughing at you. No one who knows what they are doing wants that stuff. This is really a poor way to treat our fellow RTH members. His materials may not be top shelf, and his price may be high, but he should be free to offer them here without being treated with disrespect. This is different from offering him constructive criticism. Laughing, mocking and making fun is the domain of children schoolyard bullies; not grown adults.

market value is what ever someone is willing to pay. pricing rocks is difficult especially local finds that might not have an established value. $140 might seem fair if your trying to cover your time and expenses to recover that material but honestly time and expenses RARELY get covered when selling rough rock.
Your material may have a higher value locally too. I sell my local pudding stone tumbles for three times the price of all my other "exotic" tumbled stones to a local jewelry maker but nobody outside of Michigan would probably ever consider paying that much.
Another great trick is to go on EBAY and type in your types of rocks then click on "sold listings". I never look at current listings to determine value. Always look at sold listings.

Quialriver He did buy a box from me I have not heard if he got it yet or likes it I'm sure he will let me know. His material may be real good up there but compared to what a lot of you find it just is not that nice some in the pictures looked pretty good to me. Everyone still needs to be respectful to him if you dont like what he has dont look. What I sent him I think was good rocks but to some of you mine may not be that great ether!

I use to have 45 Paint horses at any given moment. I raised em, trained em, bred em, and sold them. I priced them at what they were worth to me... Sometimes they sold fast, sometimes slow but they sold for what I wanted for them. Every man's home is his castle! It takes a poor frog that won't brag on his own pond! Just my 2 cents worth.

I'm not sure how you may be interpreting my post as being disrespectful. Glenn stated that he was "still waiting for people to take up his request and sell him common worthless rocks like bornite, michigan copper, crysocholla, mixed color jasper, opalites and other common stuff that I don't have in my area" Over looking the sarcasm ("common worthless rocks" comment) in his post I merely pointed out that you (kap) had offered to send him a box of colorful agates and jaspers. I had no way of knowing that you two had worked out a deal. Based on Glenn's statement it would have appeared to the contrary. As far as I knew he either missed your post of had forgotten about it. And nowhere did I criticize the quality of Glenn's or anyone else's material here. Larry C.

Quailriver the being respectful was not aimed at you but all of us in general. We all seem to like being "better" than everyone at times and I think it would be great if we could just all get back to why I think everyone started coming to this board to start with sharing and discussing ROCKS! No mater what the topic a lot of the posts seem to go off track and someone gets their panties in a wad or feelings hurt. I am guilty also but I am trying to do better. Anyway I hope I did not step on anyone's toes too hard! I love my RTH family even if we fight sometimes!

I did get the box from Kap, haven't opened it yet as it has been damaged (torn open) during shipping with a sticker from the post office saying sorry. Also, I didn't mention Kap as he sent me AZ Onix, sodalite, green aventurine and a few other things... not colorful agates, and the other stuff that i'm still looking for. I do appoligise for that confusion, at least that is what I thought in the morning.

Are you not happy with the box? I sent you pictures of everything before you bought them and also added some chrysocolla also.

Sorry about the box I always cover the entire box with tape to try and keep them from busting open. Yours is the first on that I have had any problem with. You have pictures of what was in the box so what is missing if anything?
If you are not happy just send it back and I will refund your money. If you are not happy let me know!

Its all good stuff, I just mean that I don't need any more on top of what you sent. I have enough onix, sodalite, and the other things to last a while
