hello everyone. my first post here but i feel like i already know some of you as i've been reading posts here for about a month. fascinating and educational... have learned alot, thank you! i started tumbling just in december with a lortone 33B and i'm hooked, far as i can tell.. lol. i went to the local rock & gem club show here recently and got inspired to buy a tile wet saw at harbor freight... was what i could afford. but i did at least get the 7". just could not resist any longer lol.. and that hammer bashing just wasn't working out for me! so for now, my question is (i got lots.. haha), can someone suggest to me a good place to buy a sintered 7" blade online? the ones i've found so far seem to be in the 40-50 $ range... is that about what i should expect to pay? any vendor suggestions? some go out of their way to promote their quality, some don't. what actually constitutes the blade's longevity & usability? just the depth of the embedded diamonds, or some other 'grit'-like factor?? also, i'm sure i read (here), that using a thicker blade would be better than the thinner ones which are more for faceting, and less forgiving for what i'm using them for... i'm looking to clean up fractures, rough, and kerfing for splitting (with a cold chisel this time, right?) i am grateful to have found this place, it's a wealth of experiential and scientific knowledge.... it's awesome! thanks

Welcome to the addiction.
I have a 7 inch tile saw which I use much the same way you intend to use yours. I buy my blades at Menards. $19.99 last time I got one. In my store they are in the plumbing section by where they sell the saws. More expensive ones in the tool section.

Thanks for that link, MC2! I'm pretty sure I see....an order for saw blades in my near future! At those prices, I'll be buying more than one!

thank you everyone for the welcome, very glad to be here! jamesp, question about those tho... saw's manual says i need to use the continuous rim, not segmented, and this one's the only one: the DB3770. this one is unfortunately out of stock, but i'll keep the ref for next time, thx. one question on this blade tho... there are little slots along the inside of the rim... is this ok for my use/saw? i thought it had to be continuous rim AND solid/no slits? does this matter, you think??
