I would have put these somewhere else, but they are cabochons, soooo... This was sold as unknown quartz. Doubt it is a quartz, possibly a rhyolite or jasper. Very pretty colors and pattern. It's like a stained glass star burst pattern. This is an i-don't-know-what. It seems like green moss in quartz, but is probably something else. Quite soft. Another mystery. I think this is a tiffany without the tiff (purple). I believe it is opalized. It has some brecciated opal and what seems to be calcite or similar (white). There is a little spot of yellow, too. Can't say where I got it, from someone n the board, I think. I really like it. Any thought would be appreciated.

Pretty sure the last one is Chapenite

That is a Mexican poppy material. Sometimes called Mexican Flower Jasper. It is a rhyolite, with the blue having lots of hematite. it is well silicified. I cut a bunch of these slabs. I took some photos recently of one of my best slabs. (click image for full size) some other slabs some similar rough I have not cut yet: maybe on the Tiffany, although chappenite has similar nodular-cracks - but not the translucent areas.

I agree with chappenite on the last one. I have seen it with more yellow in it.

Perhaps the last is agate/pastelite from burro creek?

Yep, rhyolite with spheroids that were cristobalite at a higher temperature. Similar to chrysanthemum stone that is composed of feldspar petals.

deb193redux Daniel, you nailed it! Thank you! That's it for sure. I love this stuff- so pretty in person. The blue is unlike any blue in the rock world. OK, everyone - I have worked chapenite and I have not seen any that is close to my mystery stone. The white areas are like calcite- soft and porous. I'm surprised it didn't undercut. (I guess, I am getting better ) I'm still thinking it is a poor tiffany. No guesses on the green quartzy stuff?

White stuff is calcite? or Pastelite? here is some pastelite in agate I collected in Burro Creek in January The pieces are highly variable, here is another Those two stones found within inches of each other. Tommy has one that is spectacular. Mine drab in comparison. and yours for clear comparison

@shotgunner You are a super sleuth, but I think you are off the scent with this one. I have seen Tommy's .... in fact, he gifted me a piece. This is not like that. You see the white that is outlined with black? That is real soft, like calcite- though it may not be. I'll try to get some better pix for you later so you can see what I mean. Plus- this piece is definitely opalized. It has that waxy, slippery feel and look-- except for the soft spots. More to come.....

Tiffany can include calcite, so I think you have it right

Hard to get the blue to show and only slab I have handy at the moment ... Pretty close ? Hi Brady- No, I haven't cut any of that, yet. The piece I cut was roughly that size and shape when I got it. I didn't preform it. Maybe it did come from you, though. I don't think it is that material. I'll go and have another look.
