This is a biggie. The stone is big, the wrap is big, the look is big! I love the copper with it. Every once in a while, I have to do one of these sculpted ones. They are fun to do but, boy, do they burn up the wire! No silver on these..... not until it is like 3 an oz again. LOL! Thanks for looking!

OMG I am in love with it. Truly stunning. May I ask, is sculpting just using the wire differently or more abundantly, to create more designs that add to the cab? That is seriously beautiful!

Thanks This type of wire wrapping is called wire sculpting. It is a different way to to work the wire... and lots of it. I learned how to wrap with this style, but quickly left it, because it really isn't my thing. But, I do like to do it once in awhile. There is a website that sells instructions for it. Here's another. If you want to see more let me know, I still have images of some old ones. For this one, I added a green verdigris patina with ammonia fumes.

very good looking piece. Is this something you draw out first or completely on the fly?

That looks great. I love the flow of the wire around the cab. The copper is perfect for the beautiful stone.

Tela you always do such awesome work! All the curly cues remind me of wind pushing a red balloon.

They look like fun to do. trying to follow you wire . LOL! If you think you have it figured out let me know... I don't think I could do it again, to tell you the truth. These all take on a life of their own. And, yes they are fun. I think I started with 5 wires about 3 feet long each.
