I was out in the desert yesterday with rockhobbit and got some good pictures of the flowers blooming. Seem to be a lot of the yellow daisy looking ones this year. The ocotillo and smaller cactus are blooming too but haven't seen any buds on the saguaro yet. These were taken with my cell phone camera since my other camera is acting up and wasn't handy. Saguaro with brittle bush and creosote in bloom Lots of different flowers Unidentified purple flowers Desert sunflowers Cactus (beavertail I think) and fairy dusters Ocotillo Prickly Poppies (I think) Desert Lupine These are blooming in my mom's yard. Mallow Mesquite tree Palo Verde tree The flowers aren't as profuse as I've seen in other years but still putting on a good show this year.

Very pretty Thank you. My daffodils only started popping up like a week ago. One day it was 70's and that evening we had a freeze warning. I think winter is finally clearing out, though. Thank goodness.

I'm not a desert person but I do like it better when it is blooming. Makes it look more hospitable.

beautiful! Does it smell good too? It looks absolutely exotic. Love the ocotillo! robins finally arrived last week, and leaf buds are beginning to fatten but not near opening yet. 1 inch of snow on the ground right now and more coming. Supposed to be in the 40's later this week. Nothing coming down stays at this time of year. Nice to see the desert all dressed up! Thanks for the show.

I always like lupine. The ocotillo is very interesting, too. i remember seeing it growing by the roadside when we went to Arizona last year, and wondering what it was.

Stephan, I like the lupine too although the ones down here don't smell like the ones we have in Montana. I remember one year I was up camping at Crystal Park and the campground had lupine blooming all over. It smelled so good. That Ocotillo is definitely distinctive.
