No comments about my accent please, will do subtitles if necessary. This is 4th clean out using SiC 30/60. Grit was pretty much gone after 2 days. Lot of work doing clean outs every 3 days, but if the grit is gone and used up why not.

Jimmy P. @ work. Enjoyed your vid, jamesp! I know whatcha mean about your accent. Many moons ago, I was embarrassed during 2-weeks of active duty at Camp Pendleton. We went to the club on the base, and all the guys would laugh when I spoke and asked me to repeat myself. Didn't help matters that I would turn the color of a beet since I'm a redhead.

Strange thing, Atlanta proper is one of the fastest talking towns in the country. But the fast talkers are transplants. Moving away from the city and things slow down exponentially. I think cold weather has something to do with fast talkers. Canadians can flat out spit some words in a hurry. Looks like a raccoon Michael. They are very common here.

jamespNice video. Thanks for sharing. I often wondered if developing a slurry quicker would make for a faster coarse grind. Keep letting us know how it is working. It will be interesting to see future geologists explain the large clay deposit in your back yard. Later Brent

I don't see that slurry as being too thick at all, frequently thicker here. Good to see you found something that starts and ends at about the same consistency. Sure wish my cleanouts were that easy.

Of the four, that one as probably the least thick. It does not seem even a good bit thicker slows any grit break down. I know another reason why you need it thick. that is a 50 GPM pump in the nursery, it puts out some water.

It will be interesting to see future geologists explain the large clay deposit in your back yard. Later Brent Clay is mined close by Brent, it is white kaolin. The pits easy to see from satellite. That is about the 10th pit we have dug over 25 years. some quite a bit bigger. ah, the slurry deposit LOL I think you can count on a jump start to the slurry helping to deliver the grit.

jamesp...It will be interesting to see future geologists explain the large clay deposit in your back yard. Later Brent They'll probably think it's an Indian burial mound, Starguy. jamesp, why don't you use a colander to clean your tumbles?

Later Brent They'll probably think it's an Indian burial mound, Starguy. jamesp, why don't you use a colander to clean your tumbles? ha, when that time comes they can call it anything they want, James will be pushing up pansies. Jan, the tray allows me to pour of the mud and leave any remaining heavy grit to stay in the bottom to be poured back in the barrel. The mud particles wash away and the heavy grit stays on the bottom like when gold panning. If doing a clean out too early there may be a lot of unused grit. May do 5-8 clean outs during coarse grind. When changing to a finer grit then the colander sure comes out to make sure no more coarse grit is left. Gotta clean them real well then.

Thanks, jamesp! I like your method!! James, since it's been warm lately, I started the AR-2's rolling. 'bout darn time, eh? Have some of your Jimmy Crack Coral™ tumbles and metamorphic feldspar in one barrel, and fossils that snowmom and manofglass collected from Walt, and some rhyolite (wonderstone and mushroom jasper) from Tommy in the other barrel. Will post disasters when they are finished.

The coral is easy, it will polish. Felspars rhyolites granites can give all a good whipping. You will succeed. Chin up march forward.
