I share your love for "speckled" rocks, @wampidy. :)Third and eighth pictures down look very similar to my Porphyritic Andesite. I've never tried cabbing or tumbling mine. Would love to see some examples of cabs from this type of rock.

That is some nice stuff. Do you know if there is a hardness difference from black to white? I have made a few cabs from some of this in the last six months but I do not have any recent photos. I guess I should remedy that. Here are a few random pieces from before I really started paying attention to the speckled rocks. Jim

I like your speckled rock collection and don't see anything bleh about 'em, @wampidy. The 'carnelian' pet wood is sweet. Some of your speckled rocks would make pretty e-cig bases. What is this? Nice speckled cubes, washingtonrocks. Remind me of dice.

The crystals in it are really odd because some of them are square but not all of them. Jim

wow, what a great show! Love all the colors and varieties...that carnelian brecciated petwood is in a class of its own. Breccias are a personal favorite, but I think granites and porphyries and the like get the short shift sometimes. I'm very much a fan of the speckled rocks as well, Wampidy.

I especially like the red one on the right in the first photo.
