The first is a tumbled rose quartz I got from someone. I've been wanting to wrap it, since it's almost in a heart shape. It is really thick on the bottom and quite thin on the top, however, so it was hard to secure it fully onto the bottom of the wrap. It's very slippery, too, because of the polishing and the strange shape, so while it won't come out of the wrap, it wiggles around a bit. I also misjudged the amount of wire, I wanted to use more wire to get the curls longer and down further. I was inspired to do the curls because they resembled my bangs (I have some that are to my cheekbone) when I dry my hair with a round brush. I know I'm weird. I've always liked Jaclyn Smith's hair in Charlie's Angles so I try to do my hair like that, and also my wraps. Here is an unknown agate, in 14k gold filled, 22 ga. from drocknut's cabs she sent me: Here's another unknown agate from drocknut. I really am enjoying wrapping these cabs! I meant to even out the side bindings - the left one slipped up a bit - but took the pics and uploaded them without doing that…grr…and I'm too lazy to do the process over again... The first and third are in silver-filled square, I believe 21 ga. because Rio for some reason didn't have 22 ga. Not the best pic quality, I know. The last one was more dome-shaped, that's why the swirl-prongs at the bottom don't look flat. Anyway, I hope you like them!

I really like your wrapping style. The "curls" are really eye-catching. Keep up the nice work!

Way to go and I know Diane is loving the cabs being wrapped and shown here!!! Yes I am Bill. Kathy you are doing beautiful work. I'm glad you are enjoying wrapping them. I'm loving that agate in gold filled wire; simply elegant. Sorry I couldn't give you specific names for the agates but I don't know where they are from. Keep up the great wrapping.

Thank you, and Diane, I do apologize if me saying "unknown" sounded strange..I was so worried that maybe people looking would wonder what kind of agate, as if I just didn't include the name (ex. "Mexican Crazy Lace Agate; Montana Agate") so I just said "unknown". It seems as if your Unknowns are the ones I'm picking to wrap first. But they are all good, and I keep coming up with different designs for all of them, all the time.. so yes, I'm having fun!

No apologies necessary Kathy. There are a lot of "unknowns" in the rock world so not strange to use that term. Sometimes someone on the forum will recognize the material and have a name for it. I really prefer to have a more detailed or "proper" name for the cabs I wrap but sometimes that just isn't possible.
