Hi to all, I spent my 200th post begging for used tumblers so I figure I should spend my 400th doing something more constructive, thanking all the people here who have helped me. When I first showed up here, 3 months ago, I had 1 tumbler and a bag of rocks from the local shop. Thanks to the generosity and kindness of the people here I have been able to buy, trade and steal 3 tumblers and 8 flat rate boxes of fantastic rock. I've also purchased a vibe and WF saw and a Hot Dog blade based on recommendations here. My garage is starting to look and feel like a rock workshop and I have all the good people here to thank. But more important than the material things is the knowledge of rock work that I have gained here. From a good source of belts for the CE tumbler, to the idiosyncrasies of rocks and the wonders of Borax (does it cure cancer too?) I've learned just about everything I know from the people here. I was especially touched when Kate (Lady B) called me up to tell me how my poem touched her. We spent five minutes on the phone crying. OK I'm lying about that but she did inspire me to write my first poem in over 15 years and the first ever about a rock. Thanks again for helping a noob like me and for putting up with 400 dumb questions and annoying comments. I hope your looking forward to another 400 (or many more). Hey maybe some day I might even be able to add something to the group other than starting controversial political threads (sorry Tony). Tony M

Geez, Tony! Don't do that! I thought I was having a Senior Moment there when I read about our phone conversation. I couldn't even remember calling you, let alone crying for five minutes, although I do remember how touched I was by your poem. It was the one about the slimey green stuff sliding off the rock onto your foot, right? All I can say is: Congrats on acknowledging your addiction to all things rocks. ;D I told you you would love it here and how great everyone treated us Newbies. ( PsssT. Has anyone told you yet when we get to graduate from Newbie status? Not that it isn't wonderful here at RTH.) So yes, Congrats on the mile stone (ever notice how many references to rock are in our daily lexicon?). Before you know it, you'll be a BLABBERPOSTER, too! Lady B (Proud BLABBERPOSTER of 1000 POSTS as of this message! )

Tony You're a great guy even though you don't like Ann. When I first arrived, I started a few controversial threads and soon learned to stay mostly with rocks while here. ;D

Ummm guys, you never ... or at least I haven't gotten past the stage of being a newbie. I think to do that, one would have to quit learning and I for one hope that I never reach the stage where I think I know everything. I'll leave that to the teenagers. ;D
Congrats Tony, keep on keeping on!!

Congrats Tony!! I'm not quite to 400 posts yet, but I will be soon.
I t really is wonderful here at RTH. Most of what I learned about rocks was from here too. Keep asking those questions. Sometimes I see a question asked that I didnt even know I needed the answer to.
And yes, I too am addicted to all things rock. I could happily spend every spare dime on anything connected to this hobby. So I must keep a tight reign on myself.
And to you Lady Blabberposter, congrats on your 1000 posts.

Grats on the 400 Tony.
The more you ask and post the deeper the shine is.
Cheers Mark.

Well Tony you're rollin' right along here!! 400 posts already,,,,WOW,,,,,,, I just broke 2000 a while ago and I've been here since 2004!!! I don't think how much you know about our hobby has anything to do with being a newbie or not. All you have to do is get old and everyone thinks you're an expert at it!!! Ha Ha Ha!!! I'm 63 and aint outta Kinnygarden yet!!!!! You're doin' just fine,,,,,,,,keep it up!! When I first joined here I got myself in trouble with a few of the ladies here to a point where I quit!! As you may or may not yet know I LOVE to "throw a log on the fire" just to see the sparks fly!! Well it looked like the 4th of July when I got messages telling me I was a nasty person, etc, etc!! It's obvious that I joined again but have learned to keep the sparks at a minimum,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Especially with the ladies! ;D connrock
