LOL. Just about 1-1/2 months ago I gave a 20" HP Vibrolap to a good friend of mine.

Here's one ending tomorrow, Monday about 6pm west coast time. Might be a good deal depending on bids, I wouldn't go over maybe $150 including shipping but you never know...

Jimi you talking about a vibrating lap or a flat lap? Flat lap me thinks. Need to polish flat sides for cabs and slabs Vibratory laps are for polishing ends of rough and geodes correct? I'm seeing flat laps and even vibe laps on eBay I just have no knowledge in them

broseph82, I was thinking about buying an 8" Universal, but decided to purchase the Graves Company's Topcutters to use on the end of the arbor instead. The Topcutters come in 6" and 8" of different grits. I plan on using a diamond wheel as a backer.

I consider this a flat lap. Its an 8" housing that holds diamond plates with a 1/2" hole in all grit sizes. It also holds felt pads that can be charged with various polishes for final steps. I used this for my first year making cabs before stepping up to the genie. Now this is used for finishing the backs on cabs and various other grinding tasks like windowing. I have two extras units but hate shipping things that do not fit in flat rate boxes. I have one complete with motor and all mounted but would not think of shipping that one and I have one that is just the grinder body, 3 step pulley and water tank. Shipping that one is a possibility. These are really well built thick cast aluminum units made by GEMLAP (probably in the 70's) Chuck

Here's the unit I have that is not mounted to anything and without a motor. I know what I want for the unit but I would need to research what shipping would cost. You just need a backing plate and then the diamond plates. Last time I ordered a full set of diamond plates from Kingsley North they were $25 each. This is my other one that is for sale locally already mounted with a 1/3 HP motor for another example of how to set them up Chuck

I have one of those gem laps that I already boxed up to send to someone else and they never paid for it. Been sitting on the bench in a box for about a year now. You can have it for $50 + shipping. No motor, no laps and it is ready to ship.

Agreed, the only way I buy those personally is as part of a lot. They are a good durable lap though.

Update: I'm wanting a vibratory flat lap. I see some 20-27" vibe flat laps on eBay but all are pick-up only

Once again Tony has some, he took a really nice one home from Quartzsite to check out and fix if need3d. It's the kind that doesn't use rubber balls.
