And on a side note, blooming carnivorous bladderwort. It feeds on single cell protozoa. Thrives in the protozoa infested water. Devilish looking meat to vegetation conversion, goes both ways...:

Burning (Controlled) does make a difference in growth of plants.......Great job... PS: Cool looking plant too!! It sweetens the soil Michael. Kills the blackberry brambles and puts a hurting on shrubs and young trees that are unwanted. Being in Oregon you have experience with blackberry and raspberry thorns. My neighbors mule got caught it them. They grow wild here. Flesh removing rascals. Hooked thorns that peel you off of an ATV or a tractor LOL. The whitetails run through them like greased lightning and lose my dogs in a chase. Poor dogs just crying and yelping from pain. They may learn one day.

I'm very shy around fire now! While living in ND,I had about an acre of land on the end of town...I was burning my garden off (late fall).. Thought I got all the fire out,but an amber drifted towards my back yard, onto the dry grass "WOOF" away it went!!!! Burned a good chunk of land and part of my buddies pasture!!!!! Fire Dept. had to respond to control it! I was finished with fire!!! I just recycle the weeds and brush now...LOL

In this case I did it when pretty wet and used a back pack blower to get it going. I had a fire dept visit when one got out of control. 200 acres of weeds were at risk, minutes away from catching. The wind came up from no where.

Now that's a cool burn...LOL. Ok, so someone has to say it. I know you sling a chain saw Diane. Let me say, bamboo is the worst plant to handle a chain saw in. It throws the chain and and leaves stobs tripping you as you advance into cutting the grove. The cains fall against each other, jamming the chain. So a freeze killed a 300 foot long grove. They are 30 feet tall. Looks like I will attempt to set the whole grove on fire. It is a mess.

I can't imagine cutting bamboo with a chainsaw. I have enough trouble trying to cut pine trees and cottonwoods. Sounds like that grove is definitely a mess. Good luck getting it cleaned up.
