Took a drive to visit some friends in Eastern Oregon and we took a day hike into the Blue Mountains. Covered 2 miles or a bit less and only spent about 3 hours looking. Most of the time it was walking. Pictures show some of the find!

Amazing finds for surface scatter. The area must be remote, or unknown to local collectors. The first one is a prize specimen. I'd be there next week if I was you. Why dig, if you don't have to.

This a small slab from the same location That I found during my first trip there. It is 5 1/2 inches wide. I like the detail of the grain structure, looks like the log had been smashed from the distortion of the grain. Just thought I would add it to this post.

woodman, I cannot view your beautiful finds in your first post today. me neither, some on the web site? I may have changed something on photobucket, will check. How do I add a link to photobuckeet album? I moved the pictures to an album not realizing that the link to here would be lost.

woodman, please access your photobucket account, then highlight and cut the web address to your photobucket account and paste it into your thread. I hope that makes sense. ETA: Your 2nd photo just appeared in your first post, woodman. Maybe it's something weird going on with photobucket?

ETA: Your 2nd photo just appeared in your first post, woodman. Maybe it's something weird going on with photobucket? I tried your method and it works, but it also gave access to my entire account and an not OK with that, so I reposted the best and may add as I do some cutting. Sorry about the confusion! This old guy is still learning all of this!

This small chunk was part of my find, cut the bottom off and think I will leave it as is for a display piece, It is 6 1/2" tall.
