I like your conglomerate, bhiatt, and your redwood limb cast is a beauty!

I was informed that the limb cast is barite. I thought I seen some wood trace. Barite though is common in the voids.

Those are neat. How can you tell the top is petwood? Just below the blue fortification area is evidence of wood. It has the round shape and there is conglomerate below that. In the 4th photo where the piece looks shaved without conglomerate, you can see where the wood was. I guess it really is considered more of a limb cast but there is evidence of structure in the first photo in the bottom area noticeably and other areas on the polished face. The McElmo Canyon area if I remember correctly has pretty much been closed to public. The hermanophyton petrified wood is from McElmo Canyon found on reservation which is no longer accessible. David Owens is on facebook. His grandfather found the first example of hermanophyton and Professor Tidwell published his findings. www.google.com/search?q=hermanophyton+mcelmo+canyon&biw=1366&bih=599&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=6M47VdDFFYbXsAXs7YDIDQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg#tbm=isch&q=hermanophyton
