This past weekend I posted some pictures of rocks I collected on a beach. There was some interest in a piece of granite I picked up, so I fired up the old flat lap and made a few cabs. I still haven't really gotten the hang of getting a good shine on my cabs. Part of that may be the rocks I'm using. I went through 1200 on my flat lap and then I used cerium on canvas. I need to get some finer disks I think. Anyhow, here's the picture. I have no idea what he camo rock is. It's a small rock I found here in Lake Huron. The granite turned out to be very dark.

Spectacular, good to see granite cabbed. The green one is camouflaginite. For deer hunters.

I have no clue what it is. Darn rocks in the lake don't have labels.

Nice cabs, from some great finds. You could also try tin ox on felt. I use that on cabs when the 14 k diamond doesn't get a good enough shine.
