Hi, y'all, just wondering if anyone here knows anything about "vintage" MDR manufacturing lapidary combo units? A friend of mine bought one at a local auction, and doesn't want/need it, and I'm considering buying it from her...but wondering what it might be worth. It has an 8" trim saw, 2 VERY USED silicon carbide wheels, and an end pad for sanding and polishing. The old steel beast was obviously used heavily in its day, and looks like it's been in storage for about as long too! Anyone ever used one? (BTW, she hasn't even fired it up yet to see how the old motor and bearings are working, so of course any consideration on my part would have to include its condition) :-)

My opinion, any old school equipment that is still around,is worth the effort to get it going again....If it's for the right price,so it can be repaired on some parts and etc............ Sounds like a winner to me!!
