I had to go up on the roof of our machine shop where I work yesterday to talk to deal with the furnace repair guy. I knew that all of our shops had rubber roofs with stones on them but never thought about what kind of stones. It makes sense that they use local stuff and sure enough as I was talking to the repair guy I looked down and there was a pudding stone right next to the guys foot. I could not spend too much time but in about 5 minutes I found three of them. Most of the other stones look like typical stuff from our beaches. Thanks for looking Chuck

Did you shove the furnace guy out of the way to grab it?

Did you shove the furnace guy out of the way to grab it? I am sure they thought I was a little weird walking around picking up stones up there. I did not explain myself just left them to wonder. I work in our smallest building at 20,000 square feet but we have 80,000 square feet manufacturing plants with rocks on the roof too. I have no idea what the purpose is. They are loose and just tossed on top of the rubber membrane. Maybe to keep the black rubber from getting too hot I suppose? Chuck

And here I thought I was the only one who hounded parking lots. I dont think anyone can really call their self a true rock hound if they don't check out all the landscape rocks at stores they visit. I am not too shy about it. Chuck
