Sold this one to some apparently well to do folks in Los Altos Hills California. Freight costs from Atlanta $186 for 42 X 42 inch pallet @ 160 pounds, class 77.5. dock to dock 37 inch hemispherical flat base. Great for cannibal cookouts.

Well-to-do is an understatement. The median home price in Los Altos Hills is $5.4MM, as of last year.
You made this, I presume? A nice bowl.

About always map out customer's locations to arrange their pick up at the freight terminal. And check google earth to see if they are where they say they are. Judging from their estate from satellite things must be going well for them. South side of town on a big hill with lots of acreage, guessing that does not come cheap in CA. Looked like some kind of salt flats over toward Newark at the south tip of the bay. Desalinate operations ??

Acreage, indeed, is not cheap in California, particulary in Silicon Valley. Los Altos Hills has officially banned the rabble. Multi-family houses (aka apartments) and small acreage are banned. Great way to remain insular, eh? The salt flats are actually a salt-making operation that belongs to Cargill. In recent years, some of the land has been re-acquired from them and returned to marsh status, to be used as a wildlife preserve.

I see, the zoning game is well played out there too stephan. Amazing what money will do. Well put, insular. The fire pits are brainless activity, healthy for the mind. Keeps welding skills sharpened too. Thinking about one of those (very)expensive ads to go in the rabble area Atlanta Magazine to sell them this fall locally. May take 6 fire pits to pay for the one month ad. oh well. If you find a niche, let it be an interest of the well-to-do clan LOL. Biggest problem is internet competition, people make stuff for nothing. ALL stuff. I noticed the preserve status on those salt flats. Figuring on very high salinity, no wonder it is devoid of emergent wetland plants. Maybe attracting bird life that would find Salt Lake a good habitat.

jamesp, thought you may be riding your bike to Sunny California when first accessing your thread since it's the first thing you see. Congrats on another sale! I've wondered what captbob named his iguana, too. (Godzilla?) I remember one thread where he said it was all about the lizard, lol.
