Tropical water lilies wreaked havoc in S.Texas and Florida when they got loose in the wild.
They are annuals in Georgia. One of the old school plant collectors I know used to plant them in Florida swamps to grow them for sale.
The law finally caught up w/him.

Bought that one a few years back. Have been propagating it for kicks. The goiters live thru the winter outside. Several other tropical lilies also.
Experimenting with tropical lilies that are not so tropical. Funny, biggest tropical lily market is Canada and the great white north, go figure.

Just tinker w/the tropical lilies. Have about 30 varieties of hardy lilies in white/red/pink/peach/yellow. Another 70 varieties of others in lotus/carnivorous/bog plants.
4 green houses for tropical stuff, none heated other than creek water flowing thru them. Maybe several acres in ground stock. Lots of water holding containments for holding potted stock.
An artesian warmish water well on the St. John's river in Florida for growing tropical stock, a 1/4 acre pond on 5 acres.

Used to build powerful jet skis to run down the St. Johns river to collect more tropical invasives. They were illegal to collect from for fear of spreading them.
Sorta like moonshiners w/fast cars, keeping away from the natural resource enforcement folks. Plant bootlegger.
Collected the root stocks and carried them back to my back woods camp, kept them happy till I carried them back to Atlanta. Then dodging AG road checks coming home thru Florida.
The Suwannee River crossings are peppered with inspection stations. Did get a Florida APB put out on me for Marijuana Leaf Hibiscus plants. They surrounded me in Macon Georgia.
The police were laughing when they saw what they were. Gave two police plants for their Moms.
Camp in Florida was purchased from plant boot leg operations. Paid for entirely by boot leg plants back when that biz was thriving.
Now that river frontage has become valuable, so it will serve as retirement. Already sold two lots off of it. And used that money to buy 6 other frontages.
Sold 5 of the 6, #6 under contract as we type. So did a lot of (Georgia)carpet bagging in Florida. But sold most of that land to northerners, so reverse carpet bagging.LOL
I guess I am safe telling this story, none of it can be proven cause I never got caught.

You can tell from the tropical lily above that it does not take much space to carry a bunch of propagules.

The motivation to do this business was to have a short work season so I could be lazy for 4-5 months out of the year LOL.
Probably not the most noble rational. After 25 years of such a schedule I think I am spoiled rotten.
God forbid if I had to get a 9-5. Belligerent and independent, they would run me off in a week.
Been looking at getting a part time job at Pinewood Studios or Tyler Perry's studios, others. I live in the middle of the film industry zone.
I deer hunt behind Tyler and his entourage's mansions-don't tell. It is reverse slavery, us white boys work for them.
Hoping to sell my farm to a member of his clan one day. White trash living next to black royalty, go figure.

Offered my farm for film site. There is a new divided median road near the house they film high speed car scenes constantly.
They shut the road down for a month to do 'Fast and Furious'. All I could hear was Lamborghini's hurling along at 150+.
I think they trashed 6 of them in the process. They tore the road and medians up doing their stunts.
Last week they shut it down for more car scenes-they had about 10 yellow KIA box cars-the ones the rats drive on the commercial.
They must have put turbos in them, they tore the road up with those cars too. Not sure what movie that one is.
When they are not filming, the local black motorcycle gangs race the road, those guys are the craziest.
Local farms next to me that they use for film sites. Lots of zombie movies LOL, what's w/that ? My calling.
Rental property has become a premium, film industry gobbles them up and do pay well.

South Fulton County has predominately a black government. They are prejudiced to their own.
They let us white folks get away with murder-lax permits, no tags on our vehicles, allowing conservation easements to reduce taxes, riding w/out helmets,etc.
One of the tax assessor haunchos approached me about putting my farm in a state sponsored conservation program. Unheard of, lowering my land taxes 80%.
County assessors hate that program. Well he walked me thru it and took liberties in my favor to get it passed. Another token white well planted in the hood.
They want to keep us happy so we will not do 'the white flight'. I live in a very non-regulated situation. Strange arrangement.
There is 3000 acres behind my house. Timberland and private owned. No one goes back there. The black folks dang sure don't.
They think some crazy lynch mob is going to catch them-not. Most of them from N.E. U.S. and California, and don't trust the average so. white woodsman haha.
South Fulton was advertised on 60 Minutes long ago as being a premier spot to move. The building industry never got hit by the recession because of it.
I live just to the west of one road, and south of another road where they allow 2.5 homes per acre, so no subdivisions are being built in my sector(one home/acre).
I bought this property cheap because of the 'black flight' rumors to this area. It has been a blessing.
