What's the top ones Chuck? I assume the rest are Pudding stone. I think I remember you finding the dark puddingstone. Is that it on the bottom?

orrum- top row of the second set is a mystery stone. The bottom picture is gowganda tillite, lots of people call it dark pudding stone but it is completely different. The red in pudding stone is jasper and the red/pink in gowganda is granite. Chuck

So the gogawdzh whatever stone has granite for the red. Will it take a polish or just undercut like regular granite?

I love those pudding stones.I found a small one in a field here in northwest ohio last year.The real stuff quartz with colored pieces in it.Seeing those pictures blow my little pup away.I hope to get into michigan this year.Are there beaches where this rock is more common or just luck on where you find them?Thanks for the pictures to drool over....Steve

Pudding stone can be found on any beach on Lake Huron that has rocks but the further north you go the better chance of finding some. After 25 years of collecting them I have a good percentage of them in my yard at my cottage now for landscaping, LOL Chuck
