As most of you know,I have been into hounding since the early 60's-taught by my two Uncles(what hounding was about) in 1963...(Hooked ever since)..... When I lived in Montana,I collected everything and anything! But when I moved I had to unload what wasn't worth packing, but always hung onto this huge petwood (thinking its about 29 pounds),never letting it out of my site! I found this guy about 30 years ago,in Montana...Its been to North Dakota, back to Montana, than North Dakota again, now Oregon.. I finally said, enough is enough and made a deal with my friend Roy to get it cut, with his bigger saws..(My 14" wouldn't even touch it-LOL) Well after all the travels and liftings and showing it off, here are the results of my keeping the "BEAST"... Roy I thank you so very much my good friend-TWO THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!

er many years of collecting from different areas in different states-I forgot where in Montana I found this-but as soon as Roy showed me the photos,I knew exactly where it came from!!! The Yellowstone County area, near Laurel,Montana............. Here are a few others that my Nephew found in the same area, but in the Yellowstone River, near Laurel...So I know there is a great zone there, need to do some serious investigating soon..LOL

WOW!!! Absolutely stunning slabs. Darn good thing you hauled it to heck and back! One of those don't judge a book by it's cover deals. Even so, had to take some thinkin' to slab her after all this time. Good call to do so!

That is certainly a wonderful find, even if it took so long to look inside! I think that the "rough" may have been my choice for a long time too!
