This slab is most likely the best slab I have or ever will have. 8 1/2" by 11 1/2". This slab of oak has it all and I thought I would share it with you all. The colors are pretty true to the slab. Photographed under fluorescent lights. F5, 1.6 seconds, 100 ISO.

Way awesome. How thick is it? It is 7/8 inch thick. I tend to cut a little thick with this type of wood. Look at it wrong and it will be in several pieces!

Well worth any precautions. Just fabulous. I have been known to use fiberglass mat on the back also. You can never to be too cautious! This one has no fiberglass tho!

A complete round and with all those colors. Terrific piece! Great picture. BTW: was the exposure really 1.6 seconds? Dim light and slow ISO I guess.
Where approx is the piece from?

A complete round and with all those colors. Terrific piece! Great picture. BTW: was the exposure really 1.6 seconds? Dim light and slow ISO I guess. Where approx is the piece from? I use overhead fluorescent lights and tripod for camera, ISO was 100. F5 and yes 1.6 seconds. sometimes I use even longer, up to 30 seconds. I get good detail, no flash to worry about. I take the picture from my computer, the camera is in a different room and USB cable to computer. The wood is from the Stinking Water Mountains of Oregon. Very hard to find these days.
