I don't post a lot of wraps. I am not very good with them and never seemed to make any progress. I was stuck at decent wraps, sloppy bails. Last night I was looking at rockjunquie 's Etsy store which always motivates me to try another one. Looking at her wraps, a dim light bulb flickered in my brain and I finally saw how to do wrap a bail.
Today I cabbed a Chrysocolla in quartz and wrapped it in 22ga square and half round copper, which I patina' d in Liver of Sulfur. In the first photo the pendant is sitting on a dry slab of the chrysocolla
Since the Chrysocolla turned out well, I wrapped an Ocean Jasper as well. It is wrapped in 22ga square and half round silver.
Thank you Tela!!

Those are two great cabs you wrapped. I am really feeling the urge to splurge on some OJ now. At first glance I though hey those bails kinda look like mine then I read the post and figured out why. I learned my bail (and much more) from Tela too.

Chrysocolla is really distinct with almost thread-pattern

Chrysocolla is really distinct with almost thread-pattern I will try to remember to take a close up of it. It does have threads. It is some pretty cool stone.

Please tell us how to do the liver of sulfur process? It is pretty straightforward. I use the liver of sulfur from Rio Grande jewelry. I mixed some up last year and keep it stored in a jar under the kitchen sink. After I wrap a stone in copper, I drop it in for 2 minutes. Then I rinse it off and lightly rub the wire with 0000 steel wool and rinse it again. I then polish it with a Sunshine cloth.

I wanna do this. Where do you get 0000 steel wool? What is sunshine cloth? Sorry but I never heard of this. I think it will look good on my copper Hillbilly Wire Twisting. Thanks for the info, that aged copper is da bomb!

orrum I bought the 0000 (super fine) steel wool at Lowes/Home Depot. The Sunshine cloth is an inexpensive polishing cloth that has been impregnated with something to help bring out the shine in metal jewelry. I get them from Rio Grande Jewelry.
