Palm Owyhee Front Back Remainder glued to board. I bought a piece of Bruneau on ebay a while back and waited to use my slab saw to cut it. The Covington vise is like a wood vise and not very flexible. I glued the piece to the board and then rotated the board in the vise to align the cut. I ended up with a thick slab that I will split on my trim saw. The Covington uses a lot of material for the cut. I will end up with two slabs a little over 1/4 inch and should get another two slabs from the remaining piece. You never know how far the pattern continues. I'm pleased.

Looking good! Love that Bruneau I will replace my blade in the next few months, not from wear, but to find a thinner blade. The Covington blade cuts beautifully - but it does eat material..

I split the piece using my trim saw. I was afraid of gluing it and losing too much material on the slab saw. I hacked it up pretty bad but after cleaning up the slabs on the grinder I will still have more than 1/4" of even material for each slab. I expected the split to look like the back but it looks like the front. Buying blind, I scored. The slab on the left is the other side of the front and the second piece is the other side of the back of the unsplit slab.
