My daughter asked me if I could make a bowlerite guitar pick for her BF for his birthday this weekend. I said I'd love to try. It's not perfect, if you look close you can see a few scratches. But she wants it for him to play guitar with, so I figured it'll get beat up anyway. The pick is maybe 2mm thick in the center & tapers to almost a point around the edge. If he doesn't like it for playing, I can drill a hole in it & make it a pendant for him. Thanks for looking.

Love the backlit shot. I have made a few pendants from bowlerite but never anything so thin. Does it seem strong enough? I do not think fordite would hold up at all at those dimensions.

Thanks guys. Chuck, it's plenty strong enough, but probably would get brittle if thinner.

bowlerite. oh my! pretty color- its really neat. I had to google it. clever use of abundant materials. I saw about 20 bowling balls for sale over the past 10 days, hitting resale shops and garage sales with guest to the area. They were averaging about $4 each.

Yup, I paid $7 for this one at a thrift shop. Kind of a pain in the butt to slab it tho.
