I was cleaning out my pictures recently and realized I never posted any pictures of these wraps that I did as a custom order for a fellow RTH member ( junglejim). It was a good size project and on top of the wraps I also preformed a group of cabs so he could finish them in his tumbler. These are all made from slabs he sent me. This first one was made from a really cool stone that he had tumbled. It had a nice flat top and bottom but I had to grind and polish the sides to create a flat area to put the groove in. please comment if you know what this stone is. pretty darn proud of the groove on this one This one is kaleidoscope jasper and really looked nice in aged copper This one was my favorite wrap and its hard to go wrong with a nice lace agate stone Another smaller lace from the same slab as above And here were some of the cab preforms for tumbling that I sent along with the wraps Thanks for looking Chuck

Great work Chuck. Do you age the copper? If so how? If not where do you get it? I know I ask for a lot of info but hey your methods and supplies are sooo cool! Thanks, Bill

I add the patina after tumbling (burnishing). That seems to be a common question so I am thinking I may do a quick tutorial on simple patinas so stay tuned. I am not an expert but I can at least explain how I do mine. The necklace in the closeup photo is not solid copper. It is a craft store chain sold by the foot so it did not react the same as solid copper but it still went with the wrap real nice when done.

Chuck, Just when I think how much I love the groove wraps, you throw in a non-groove wrapped stone and I am torn I reaaly like the clean lines of the groove wrap- I'm a less is more kinda guy in my tastes However the non groove wrap is exquisite I can't decide Great job as usual Bill

Thanks everyone. Doing custom stuff with other folks rocks is kinda fun and it allows me to work on some materials I have not done before.

Thanks Chuck, really like what you did with these. Gave three away to friends and family and it went over very well. The pieces that went into the vibe turned out really nice as well.

Love the grooved wire wraps without overdoing it on the wire so the stone is showcased instead of the wrap.
