I found a large fracture free piece of what I think is graveyard point plume agate at a local estate sale, and made a set of coasters from a couple slabs. Not perfect by any means. Lots of little pits here and there, but they will hold up a glass, and they look really neat in person.

Did you put some felt on the bottoms? Will save wood tables that way
