What part of the region was this found? Looks like it's either a Texas or Oregon moss agate...............

It could be from the Rio Grande drainage of New Mexico as well. Its red agate. Tom

Yeah, as other have said, red moss can come from a lot of areas. To me, yours looks a lot like Mexican material but Rio Grandes can look like that too. Cady Mountains in CA have similar stuff as do several locations in Utah, Arizona, Oregon etc.....Mel

It was found in Louisiana on my rock table! All joking aside, it has no label, so it could be from any of several estates I bought back in the day. No telling now...maybe I'd better stick with calling it red plume agate! It didn't look like much on the outside, now that it's open, I wish we'd thought of slabbing it years ago.

Agree with all above, but I have some India Moss that is very very similar. If I had to bet money, I would say El Rodeo area Chihuahua / Durango border area.
