Quote -- "A rock can take millions of years to form, but it only takes a second for someone to skip a smooth pebble into a lake, and then it is gone." Dr. Kaiser said.
And this guy has the title "doctor" ? How is a pebble being tossed into a lake cause it to dematerialize ? It has simply been moved to a new location. Something mother nature herself does every year with storms, water runoff etc.
The doom & gloom snake oil doctors are alive and well, and teaching their garbage in our universities.
Me thinks the good doctor has lost a few rocks himself. Between his ears.

forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/70889/geology-newsSome people think the Earth is warming too The earth does that now and then. Also has something called Ice Ages. Crazy ain't it! The problem seems to be the FULL ON 'tards that think it's a man made problem and that by over regulating with industry stifling laws that they can change what happens naturally whether there are humans on the planet or not. We need to ban the use of coal and stop drilling for oil. Who needs that silly electricity and gasoline anyway. Freakin' morons...

well we now know jake does not understand satire, and the captian is a fool Since Jake is a dog he probably hasn't read Swift or other satirists. And if the captain's crazy (in your opinion) I'm proud to share that false title. Maybe if we taxed Americans enough (the rest of the world's too poor -- gotta spread that American wealth around!) we could eliminate other threats like erosion, cosmic radiation and plate tectonics.

well we now know jake does not understand satire, and the captian is a fool Oh, I understand satire all too well. And I know fools when I see or hear them. In the years that you've been on this forum, how many times have you read about great rock collecting areas being closed forever to us rockhounds by " Government programs to protect precious wild life habitat)? How many sand fleas and other useless critters have to be saved from a few thousand avid rockhounds ? It's fools like the good doctor who are causing the closing of our public lands. Lands which are supposed to belong to you and me for our recreational use. Lands which our government is grabbing up by the millions of acres, and running us off of. The real fools are the ones who can't or don't want to see what our government and its cronies like the so called doctor are doing.

all we can hope for is to have a meteor bombardment to supply fresh rocks mostly™ Oh heaven forbid. That would dislodge existing rocks, and according to the good doctor, they'll be gone forever since they've been moved.

snuffy, it was posted on facebook to a rock page I follow when somebody commented that she thought 100 lbs of rocks collected was excessive and that perhaps we all should think of leaving rocks for others to enjoy. She got 'explained' to quite thoroughly and somebody posted this article, which I had never seen before. I meant to amuse not to dismay. I guess in light of comments like that Facebook poster and some of the policies sited by Don (Jakes Rocks) it is easy to see why a person reading this through the first time might think somebody was being serious. what a world!

Life's too short for me to spend my days reading the satire blogs, or the far left wing blogs, (of which there are far too many).
