I was lucky enough to get some glass slabs from Snuffy a few months back. I was excited to see if they could make some cool looking hearts given the cool colors of the slabs I cut some hearts out on my tile saw and tumbled them with some broken up glass bottles They came out pretty good. - Thanks Snuffy!!! Thanks for looking Whole batch A few pics of the hearts A few close ups Some of the pics look "frosted but they look really cool up close Thanks for looking Bill

Those hearts are really cool. I run broken glass bottles with all my apache tear and obsidian loads for filler.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments Chuck- I always wondered about using glass as filler with obsidian. I'll have to try it Fossilman- I did use my same recipe. Started in rotary at 220 then lot-o 400, 600 and polish. The glass tumbles way quicker than rock in the rotary. I only needed 3-4 days instead of 3-4 weeks Bill

Bill- What percentage and what type of filler did you use during your loto stages? This one is beautiful but looking at the closeup I am left wondering if the rounded edges are crisp and shiny and the front and back are slightly frosted? are any of your bottle pieces like that too or was it the type of glass used for the cabs? Great tumble - I always enjoy doing glass. It can be a real pain, but when it comes out nice like yours, it is worth the trouble!

Those are beautiful tumbles and makes one heart pitter-patter, cardiobill! I really like your hearts that have the glass bubbles in them.

Chuck Chuck The filler was mostly just broken glass. The rest was ceramics but I didn't need a whole lot of it - I would guess 10-20% I see what your saying about the faces looking frosted in the pics but they really do not look frosted close up I took the pics right after I had dried them off on a humid day and they did seem to fog up a bit I have tumbled some glass before and left it frosted by not polishing it. It had more of a sea glass appearance Bill

I have a hard time with frosting when doing glass. With mixed types of glass some comes out fine and others frost. Tempered glass the softest and easiest to frost. Blue bottle glass must be hard for some reason, it polishes best for me.
