gingerkid- wife has $58,000 dollar camera(not really but expensive non-the-less). It helps. I asked her about that thing, she bought it under the radar(me). LOL, what's fair for the gander/goose-not necessarily. I would have been in a stew pot had I spent that much without 'mutual discussion'. women

jamesp, does Mrs. Denise sell her photos? She takes excellent pics and selling them would probably pay for her camera. ROFL that she purchased it under the radar and you would be in hot water if you spent that much money. I confess to doing the same with Rick. Smuggling rocks and minerals inside is a difficult task. ahem...

wow, you could count the feathers! My old prehistoric camera is about to bite the dust, I wonder how good the radar is here... I've never tested it. My sister swears it is better to beg forgiveness than to beg for permission, but I like living.... Those are gorgeous photos!

wow, you could count the feathers! My old prehistoric camera is about to bite the dust, I wonder how good the radar is here... I've never tested it. My sister swears it is better to beg forgiveness than to beg for permission, but I like living.... Those are gorgeous photos! The lens must weigh 3 pounds Deb. What you see there is what great optics can do. Old school high grade telephoto optics coupled to a good digital camera. The lens is digital age but 12 years old. Nothing new except image stabilization which had little to do with making the photos turn out well in this case. The camera body is 7 years old, Nikon D90. 35mm Nikon, all of it. It is no fun to use; it is like holding a big brick. Contrary to most digital cameras. The folks at the dog shows got her started using those digital 35's way back when they first came out. I have her hand me down Nikon D70, it came out in 2004. It does well too. Improvements on digital cameras-yes, but the lens' technology has been around since film way back. These used camera/lens arrangements can be had fairly cheap on Ebay. Lens the expensive part. Ah, the D90 has burst, taking 3-4 photos per second. That helps a lot in nailing action. I think they have burst that takes 8/sec, maybe faster.
