[billyd] Montrose, [iant] South Fife and [opisthorchis] SW Scotland.
Girvan - Irvine and up to 20 miles inland and Kilsyth heading north west and around Birkenburn Reservoir
are Quartz Agate areas, North of the river Eden in Fife all around the coast to Perth and Montrose
including up to 20 miles inland is a Basalt based Agate area.
There are 3 Lapidary clubs in Scotland, two in the Edinburgh area, one in Leith, one in Edinburgh
and one in Clydebank, Glasgow.

Full member fees £180 per year or Associate £15 Jan - Dec + £1 per session.
Full member: Free Uniform one time only, access up to 36" saw (17" thick cut), faceting but too
few machines 5 year waiting list, a pair of each Diamond 100, 220 & 400 grinders & loose grit
flat laps 80, 220, 400, 600, 17,500 Cerium Oxide / 25,000 and 90,000 Aluminum Oxide polish.
New members must undertake basic lapidary training course at £55 over three days, members that have
lapsed their membership by two years or more must also undertake the basic lapidary training course
at no cost.
Associate: large library of books rocks & machines at discounted prices & getting rocks slabbed
by a full member at a reduced cost or a slab or two), Metalwork for jewelery (silver & Enamelling).
Your £1 session fee includes tea or coffee & biscuits.
3 days Tue - Thu 10AM - 3:30PM, 4 nights Mon - Wed & Fri 6:30PM - 10PM with occasional weekends.
Leith Lapidary Club (EH7 6AE) and
LLC: My picsFull member fees £60 per year Nov - Oct + £2 per session.
5 diamond saws upto 12" saw (5" thick cut),a faceting machine, The club now has quite a range
of Diamond based consumables, covering grinders, expando belts, steel flat laps, sanding and polishing
pads, Silicon Carbide 80, 220, 400 and Aluminum Oxide loose grit and polish laps.
With a small library of books, Metalwork for jewelery (silver, Copper, casting & Enamelling).
Your £2 fee includes tea or coffee & biscuits and use of equipment for 3 hours.
4 days Mon and Thu 1:30pm - 9:30pm, Tues 1:30pm - 4:30pm, Wed (metal only) 11:30am - 2:30pm
and 7:30pm - 9:30pm with occasional last Sunday of the month.
Trial member: up to six sessions at £2 per session.
I am currently a member of only Leith Lapidary Club at the moment.

Up to a 24" diamond saw (11" thick cut), Diamond grinders, a working faceting machine
and loose grit and polish laps, there is a cafe / carry-out next door for refreshments.
Your £1.50 fee includes the use of equipment for the day.
