One of the many hats I have worn in over 30 years working (mostly) for the same folks is problem solving. One of the first things you learn is to find the root of the problem, and that the root is usually not what you see (ie root). In the world most of us live in solving that problem means success. Not so in the world of modern politics. It's all about power and control. So lets say they solve poverty. So what do they do with the ginormous welfare state after that, and how do they campaign for re-election claiming to want to solve it? (and on a side note I was absolutely tickled that spellcheck didn't underline ginormous in red) How about the war on drugs? Then there's the Presidents personal war on racism, a howling success, right? It's all about perception in a world where rearranging the deck chairs gets more attention than changing the frickin' course to avoid the obvious iceberg. Well said........................................MrP

‘Offended’ flea market shopper calls 911 over Confederate merchandisewww.theamericanmirror.com/offended-flea-market-shopper-calls-911-over-confederate-merchandise/A shopper perusing the merchandise at the Redwood Country Flea Market was so offended by a vendor selling Confederate and Nazi historical memorabilia, the person actually called 911.
Wallingford, Connecticut police were dispatched to the flea market to investigate.
The police chief William Wright tells News 8 “the reason no one was arrested was because the items were being sold on private property” — not to mention no laws were broken.
“I was shaking and almost vomiting,” he tells the paper. “I had to run."Easy enough to believe some libtard had his itty bitty feeling hurt. Oh, boo hoo! I would pay to have been there to ridicule and mock that p*ssboy to no end.

is that Leonardo DiCaprio from Django Unchained? I've never seen that movie. Only thing I ever saw with Leonardo DiCaprio in it was about some ship sinking. Think he died towards the end.

Leo drowned/died of exposure in Titanic, one of the most boring ass sappy pictures ever made. Pic Bob posted might be from Wolf of Wall Street, a good flick but I'm not sure. Might be Gatsby too.
I expect next the First Nation folks are going to complain about the US flag, a symbol of Native American oppression by the white government of the US. If you're really being realistic, First Nation folks were screwed over at least as bad as the slaves, and in their own country by dang foreigners too. And even more recent than the Civil War. Where will it all end?. Bears will complain about the California state flag that pictures a relative hunted to extinction by California settlers. Rattlesnakes will complain about the Don't Tread on Me Flag as it implies a threat that is met with fear by humans and results in rattlers being killed. Oh the horror, the horror!!!!!! .Mel

Oh damn, I think I just offended Pete. Sorry Pete. Jim

Welcome to the 'New' USA. The economy is screwed up. We spend billions on imprisoning people whom have killed ON VIDEO. The younger generation has an overabundance of computer skills and lack trade skills. Entitlement is a way of life. Jobs sent overseas. Idiot govt. regulating us to extinction. Two terms of a very liberal Obama ? Etc etc It is a compliment to the Confederate Flag that our 'New USA' has chosen to attack it. It follows the pattern 'New USA' logic. Never would the majority of the citizens of the 'New USA' have the guts to fight to the death for any cause. Don't forget that thousands of men from both sides gave their life for what they believed in. And a low percentage of 'draft dodgers', most households had able men participate in the Civil War. It will never happen again, rest assured. There is little worth fighting for. Brian Nichols. He killed a judge !! Court recorder and Federal officer. Your tax money is keeping him alive in an expensive high security prison cell. This New USA logic ended it for me. No chance of having any faith in sensible logic from our govt. The attack on the Confederate Flag has no merit, because the attack is led by the same type of people that would not put Nichols to death in a low budget trial. The govt. does not have enough pride to give the death sentence to those that kill their own, IN A COURT ROOM ! LOL. Yes, laughing at the govt.; you guys deserve to be laughed at. PS. No matter if B. Nichols were black or white, this is not a color issue. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Nichols

A term used in the judicial system, precedence, a court room victory sets a precedence. For future hearings, offenses, standards of punishment. What precedence was set by the Nichols trial ? Even civil suites were filed by relatives of those he killed resulting in 5 million dollars of retribution from the county these events occurred at. How ludicrous is this ?
3 million and 3 years spent prosecuting 5 million in retribution A man with a rap sheet a mile long including rapes and murders.

I don't know about the Move to Amend group and not sure this is a battle I care to be involved in as I figure that big business is here to stay. Maybe I will worry about that more someday; but, for now, I have enough irons in the fire. One must pick their battles as there are too many to fight them all. If this is a cause that motivates you, go for it! As to gun control, I am a Life Member of the NRA. You know what that costs? So, I have put a good deal of money where my mouth is and I let them do the front line fighting for me on this issue as they have the money and lawyers/lobbyist and numbers of supports behind them to make a difference. You keep saying "divided we fall". While there are issues on which I agree with you, there seem to be more on which I would disagree. So I reckon we will usually be "divided". That's how it is in a free country. Folks can stand up for what they believe and, more importantly, stand against what they don't. C'est la Vie in 'Merica The red is quote: I am late with this but I needed it to make a point. There are issues on which I agree with you (now it can go either way at this point) there seem to be more on which I would disagree. (still can go either way) So I reckon we will usually be divided. (Oops, lets take the divided side instead of working on the agreed part) This is what I have been pushing against. We do not agree 100 percent or even 55 to 45 so we are mostly divided. Pure and simple. All or nothing. Shouldn't we work on the things we agree upon instead of arguing about the things we do not agree upon? Not as fun? Arguing is in the blood? It doesn't matter because as individuals we are not going to accomplish or change anything? If everyone feels this way we end up being just a bunch of groups that are dancing to their own music and not mingling. We only have this once great country that at one time was all for one (except for the two sided division) with a few differences here and there but now everyone is fighting amongst themselves about petty differences which divides the country. I would compare it to a house full of spoiled brats that all want a different kind of cake, the fly swatter is broken so nobody can bring them together to find a solution. Jim BTW Why wasn't there any bitching when the Whited House was lit up pink?

If found guilty, dead before a firing squat within three days. Done. No repeat crimes by that individual. Here a pedophile can get less time than someone that has an ounce of coke with no priors. Makes sense, keeps the courts busy. And the next child does not seem to matter. I will laugh at our govt right along with you on this one but it is not a funny laugh. Jim

BTW Why wasn't there any bitching when the Whited House was lit up pink? It was bathed in pink light in support of the fight against breast cancer. Does anyone in the entire country find that cause offensive? A pretty far cry from being lit up in the rainbow colors in support of a pro homosexuality issue don'tcha think? Does anyone in the entire country find that concept offensive?

@wampidy Jim, murder on video and death sentence for murderer caught on video is as simple as it gets. Nothing about controversy in a normal humans eyes doing life for life in such a case. A good person's life for a murderer's life is no where near a fair exchange in itself. Anything more than a 10 day trial and $10,000 tax payer's money is too much effort and cost to prosecute such. it's a gonad issue, no more gonads.

*sigh* Okay... I'll bite. The red is quote: I am late with this but I needed it to make a point. There are issues on which I agree with you (now it can go either way at this point) there seem to be more on which I would disagree. (still can go either way) So I reckon we will usually be divided. Jim BTW Why wasn't there any bitching when the Whited House was lit up pink? "( Oops, lets take the divided side instead of working on the agreed part)" Actually, that was more a statement of the obvious. Kind of a "we can agree that we will disagree" thing. If we disagree more than we agree, I will concede that we are divided. I'm not so totally convinced that is the case, but I'll run with that supposition for the sake of this post. " Shouldn't we work on the things we agree upon instead of arguing about the things we do not agree upon?" Were that to happen, what would you propose? I'm ALL ears. " It doesn't matter because as individuals we are not going to accomplish or change anything?" Rather presumptuous of you to assume that I am fighting my battles and supporting my causes and/or my beliefs alone. Just because I haven't reached out to you for your support/approval/whatever does not mean that I'm an "individual" championing a cause by standing alone in the dark holding a single candle. I neither request nor require your participation or approval regarding issues I choose to advocate. Should we agree on various topics, great. When we disagree, I don't care. " If everyone feels this way we end up being just a bunch of groups that are dancing to their own music and not mingling. We only have this once great country that at one time was all for one (except for the two sided division) with a few differences here and there..."uh... we are just a bunch of groups. Some groups are larger than others, and some are certainly louder than others! But, we have been a Country of "groups" from the get go. When -- OTHER THAN maybe times of National crisis, e.g. Pearl Harbor, 9-11 come to mind -- has this Country EVER been "all for one"?? ONE example would do. ETA: Possibly something emphasizing out greatness as a Nation, such as the space program back in the 60s, but I can think of few no social or political issues where we have been "all for one". " ... but now everyone is fighting amongst themselves about petty differences which divides the country." Please define "petty differences".
