Bought this one the other night. 108mm, unknown stone. That one's "Bamboo jasper" from China IIRC. The carnelian with a vug is gorgeous!

awesome! the carnelian is gorgeous but its "belly button" cracked me up... so fun! what beautiful spheres, I find myself scanning shops and sales for them now, only have 2, but I am in trouble. They say when you acquire 3 of anything you can start to call it a collection. Do you have more vegasjames?

I have small citrine one here somewhere and Scott (shotgunner) is making one for me as part of a trade on some other material I collected. I did buy a 3 head sphere machine back a while ago but did not know what was involved and since I don't have a slab saw it is even more difficult so I have not done much with it.

Here's a few that I made with a vintage table top sphere machine, and one that was given to me. The first is green sheen obsidian. It didn't show good under my lights. Antigorite from Arizona. Marble from near Cadiz, California, west of old Rt. 66. Septerian nodule from Madagascar. (Gift from my favorite mineral seller). And finally a tiny (1/4") amethyst bead turned on the same machine.

Here's the machine sitting on a TV tray table to give an idea of size. It's currently down for updated wiring & new bushings. Drive belts are also off for replacement. Largest cutters mounted. Smaller cutters on table in front of machine.

What is the status of the new machine you were building Don?

I still haven't gotten around to finishing the wiring. Too many projects + house & property upkeep. Hopefully as soon as fall gets here & the grass stops growing I'll get-r-done.
