Can I over tumble Tiger's Eye in coarse? I'm rounding my Tiger's Eye and just so happened someone else was posting pics of Tiger's Eye process. I thought I had seen where you can over tumble and lose the "coolness". Is this true or can I keep tumbling?

I don't think the luster is lost if you tumble tiger's eye in coarse that much, plus gets all the cracks out, hopefully. Should be find after 10-14 days in coarse. I never had to tumble longer than that.

I've tumbled it in 80 grit for 14 days, cleaning and recharging every week. It could use another one or two weeks to make them all smooth. That's what I'm looking to do but thought I read something on this forum. Maybe I'm just going loony. I'll let them roll. Thanks.

I just finished a batch of tiger eye. I rushed the polishing so I threw them back into 220 in my loto vibe so didn't remove too much volume. If they don't look better after the 220 I'll go further back to 60/90 to alleviate some chips and pits.

Can I over tumble Tiger's Eye in coarse? No. You can not tumble past the "coolness". Although, the longer the tumble, the smaller the coolness.
