Ellen Blue than? I have some Holly Blue in a wrap...It looks familiar to your agate.. I really don't have a clue what it is. I believe I found it on a hill north of the middle fork of the John Day river. I don't know what ellen blue is as far as that goes. There is a lot about rocks that I am in the dark about. The more I learn the more I find I don't know much at all.

Ellensburg blue from near Ellensburg WA, also off limits private property due to out of control rockhounds many years ago. We got some in an estate, cool stuff but really just another blue agate.

Another agate, I will not say Oregon because I don't really know. Could be Washington. More orange than carnelian. I included the holley blue piece for a color reference.

I have seen lots of the oranges from SW WA around the Kalama river. Also a nice area out of Vernonia OR. Both are hard to get into due to past indiscretions by rockhounds not respecting the property of others.

My wife has cousins in Vernonia,OR I will have to ask him about this Carnelian.... I have never dug on clear creek outside of Vernonia, access is the problem, but this piece was probably collected years ago and very well could be from Vernonia. The color is more of a carmel color, some rock colors are real hard to capture with getting some shift. I don't enhance the colors any on my computer. This one was taken under fluorescent lights and a real slow shutter speed at f11.

I wasn't totally happy with the original photo. I think this one shows the color better.
