This is the only dino bone I have seen like it. Great cell preservation. Not saying there aren't any other manganese bone specimens out there but I haven't seen one between my dino collector buddies that have been collecting long time. This one was collected around Moab, Utah quite a few years ago. I got it from an old timer that lives in Moab. It is not magnetic and is darker than pyrite. It has a blue tint to it. There is a way of testing to find out if it is truly manganese. May have to do that one day. One of the most interesting bones I have. Weight is a little under 3 pounds.

well one of my smart friends mentioned a flame test. I found this quick link. The color of the flame determines what element. Something like that.lol
