Very cool. A picture of these would make a challenging jigsaw puzzle.
How are these pieces not getting beaten to heck? Is there damage that we just don't see?
Clay slurry looks like brains.

Never hardly break captbob. Have tumble a few with solid rocks over the years and they are tough buggars. Last month I focused on collecting them, got a 5 gallon bucket full. Like you said, the hollow corals can be had for cheap. It is easier to find hollow specimens and break/saw them up. The whole hollows I saw for specimens, the broken or crappy hollows I break up for tumbling. More fun tumbling them than looking at a specimen. But they are durable. The slurry has a high IQ.

Absolutely gorgeous stuff! you ever cab any of it? Not necessarily doming it, but shaping it and a slight bevel around the edge to fold the bezel over? some of those would be stunning with just a silver back and a few prongs in strategic spots!

One day radio. Need a 120 or 220 cab grade wheel to do a bit of shaping before or during tumbling process. The bots chip real easy, may just tumble them and wire wrap them one day after learning how. They also heat treat into black and white. So that is a cool look. Must learn some smithing, but that is intention. A full Etsy page of them mounted or wrapped should attract some interest. Thanks.
