I can't make it today, but if you would pickup that red one in the 3:00 area and see if it feels smooth. If its rough throw it back down. . . . And oh that striped one in the upper left hand corner, deserves a look as well. Have you looked at that brown and white one down at 06:00 as well? Me, I'm leaving for the Canadian Rockies in a couple of days, I have to be in Prince Rupert for the ferry to Vancouver Island on 2 Sept so I might be heavily laden with beach cobble by the time I get back to the NW area of the USA, but then again if that red one is really nice . . . . Cheers, Tom

Let us know what ones you picked up. Now of those, they're covered in barnacles, eww!

soaking them in vinegar should soften them up so you can scrape 'em off!

Haha, I was like, who the heck is Rainman? Maybe a new member, he's commenting on everything! Turns out it's you. What happened to the shotgun?

Here's another crappy cell phone pic of what I have to deal with! snowmom When the barnacles are little like that they actually come off pretty easy just by scraping them with another rock. I just hate touching them, I find them so disgusting *shudder*. The rock must be pretty special for me to take it if it's covered in barnacles. Also, they do this: And yes, ok, it's mostly my fault for wearing old flip flops to a barnacle beach, but still! How rude!

Remind folks not to swim without foot protection. Barnacles do not play.
Oyster beds out this may will slice you up like razor knives.
Shell/coral cuts fester and painful.
Gravel shores, am jealous. Not fair.
