I bought some Thumler's grit packs I saw at Harbor Freight when I first started out. They have a coarse, fine, pre polish, and polish pack in each box. I placed an order with rockshed recently and bought 60/90, 120/220, 500, and AO polish. When I got the grit the 120/220 looks about the same as the fine pack from Thumler's. But the 60/90 looks finer than the coarse grit from Thumler's. Does anyone know what size the grit is in the Thumler's coarse packs?

I have never seen any specs given for what is included in those packages. 60/90 is probably the most common first stage being used. I cant imagine thumlers supplying 46/70 but maybe they use graded 60 grit which would look courser then a 60/90 mix.

I just put some rockshed 60/90 and the coarse on my desk and it looks like the coarse is twice the size. But is does look uniform like its all the same size. Would using rockshed 46/70 or their 36 grit have any disadvantages in a 3# barrel? Thanks for all or your replies.
