Heapsy, That's a high price, but the correct type of belt when you need to remove or install it in a place that would require lots of disassembly of the machine. The normal V belts do the same thing & are cheaper, but have to be installed as the wheels are being assembled onto the shaft.
Just Google V belt & click on images. You'll see that the cross section is shaped like a V. The width should match the width of the V of the pulley. I'm sure pictures would go a lot further that words to explain, but don't time to shoot & post right now. Lynn

Heapsy, gemstone.smfforfree4.com/index.php/topic,7507.15.html - This link is weird, so copy & paste it into your browser; clicking it will only get you to the directory of the forum. Here's a picture of a basic setup including Expando drums, shaft, pillow block bearings, pulley, V-belt, & motor. This is the heart of a lapidary arbor. Yours may have hard diamond wheels & resin diamond wheels, but the basics are the same. I hope this picture helps. Lynn

There have been so many negative comments on this and other forums about Hans lapidary tools, that I think most of us prefer to do business with trusted sellers & companies. If you continually hear bad things about a certain seller, then it's a matter of buyer beware.
