I have a Lortone QT-66. I have one barrel going right now and it weighs about 9 lbs. full. I want put the other one on and am wondering if 18-20 lbs. total is too much for the motor to handle. Somewhere I read that the total weight of the barrels full should be 6 lbs. each. Keeping the weight at 6 lbs. including the barrel doesn't fill the barrel up enough. Is it too hard on the motor or could it catch fire?….that motor gets hot! I haven't been tumbling too much lately and I want to get back into it.
Thanks, Andrea

I have been running my lortone QT12's for years non stop and have never one time weighed a barrel. I have never burned up a motor and the only time they need a shove is if the power goes out with a full barrel on it.
rocks to 3/4 full plus water plus one pound of grit so I am sure they weigh a lot more then 12 pounds.

Thanks Andrew….that makes me feel better. I always worry about it when I keep it running and I leave the house.
