I have been thinking about polishing the outer edge of this one. Should be a good project.

You know me..... SLAB IT, CUT IT, LET'S SEE INSIDE THAT BABY!!!! Take a look at the bottom, not polished but it shows it pretty good. I think it looks better as a specium myself.

Cool specimen. The wavy edge would be gorgeous polished. It's nice looking rough. Polished I bet it would really light up.

Those are nice to find, heavy solid chalcedony. I have one with a yellow band I keep for display. The materials your finding are so similar to Kamloops-Vernon area in BC. I enjoy noticing the similarities.

Have to agree, keep it whole and polish the edge, we like 'em that way too.

We call it devil or ninja stone for it will slice you open faster then hell and leave you to bleed out all over the desert ...always wear gloves and glasses

It's a blood sport!!! LOL. Always have super glue and bandaids for the repair of blood leaking areas!

I think I will make a thin cut on this one and polish the face, leaving the cavity intact.

I made a cut and lapped and polished it. Better than I expected. Will put it back on polisher for a bit tho.

What about polishing one side orthogonal to the druzy and then the other side at an angle, so you cut across the banding and can see it from more angles?

I have started to work on it and will contour polish the edges, It will show the banding pretty as some of it will get rounded over. I like your idea also. May use that on another piece, thanks.
