Take a look at the bottom, not polished but it shows it pretty good. I think it looks better as a specium myself.

Those are nice to find, heavy solid chalcedony. I have one with a yellow band I keep for display. The materials your finding are so similar to Kamloops-Vernon area in BC. I enjoy noticing the similarities.

we have similar material here as well ..it is lovely sliced , cabbed and tumbled ...but if it is anything like it is here be warned it is evil when wacking !! We call it devil or ninja stone for it will slice you open faster then hell and leave you to bleed out all over the desert ...always wear gloves and glasses

I made a cut and lapped and polished it. Better than I expected. Will put it back on polisher for a bit tho.

What about polishing one side orthogonal to the druzy and then the other side at an angle, so you cut across the banding and can see it from more angles?
