This cab is a triplet Woodward Ranch Black plume agate. Most of the black plume agate from this location is so dense that the plume is only visible in a very thin piece. On this piece I used a piece of semi-translucent chalcedony for the backing and synthetic quartz for the top. It makes the plume show very well. It is 1-1/4" tall. Bob

Nice piece Bobby. I have several thin slabs of WR plume ready for the same treatment when I get the ambition.

Great job Bobby. Beautiful. How thick is the plume slab on this one?

Me, too, Roger Roger! LOL! I have the stuff to do it but haven't gotten down to doing it. But, seeing cabs like this one makes me wanna get to it.

Tommy, The ones at the San Jose show were even better that this one! I'm going to be writing about how to make these in one of my future columns for Rock and Gem Magazine. Bob

Bob that is the work of a thinking artist. Problem, rock too dark. What is the solution? Triplet!
What epoxy do you use?
To what level do you finish the surfaces of the layers before bonding?
Thank you for sharing.

Shotgunner, I use epoxy 330 and I finish the surfaces to 400 grit. Bob
