One of the saddest songs ever- still a pretty song in a melancholy way.

A classic that stands the test of time. I think he lived near me. he played here all the flippin' time. Joan Jett did a good cover, too.

My personal all time favorite band. An acquired taste, for sure. He has been going strong since 1979. Seen him 3 times. (He did Cars.) The story behind the song- Numan was a world renown pilot. He was attempting (and eventually succeeded) to fly around the world and break a record. He is a very gifted stunt pilot, too. (Before his new wife made him quite due to so many of his friends dying.) Anyway, he had plane trouble and had to put down in India where he was accused of being a spy. That inspired this and a few other songs. Here I am with my man back in '06, I think. My second show. This was before I became disabled and when I cut off all of my blonde hair and dyed it! (What was I thinking?) Gary is quite a nice and humble guy.

Another great Numan song- 20th anniversary remix. I had a neighborhood bar where the dj would play this on the flip side of Cars every time I walked in. It was awesome. Must be played loud. The lyrics are very sci fi if you can follow his accent. He's singing about a robot that wants to be a man.

Here in my car I feel safest of all.. love it!
I had that song on an old "K-Tel" 8 track back in the day.. only song I had ever heard from him. Very cool you got the photo op!
The style reminds me of the Replicants. I think they only did one album, all cover songs.. but had a great sound about them

That Replicants song kinda reminded me of Marilyn Manson. I like a lot of Manson. Some I don't like. Numan's 2nd album was called Replicants. I wonder if they were giving him a nod. Numan is widely considered the godfather of techno industrial music.

Christa's a big NIN fan, of course Reznor produced the Superstar album.

Mark Sandman's band Morphine. Trio featuring a 2 string sliding bass, baritone sax and drums. Unfortunately Mark suffered a fatal heart attack on stage in Italy back in '99.
