Can't resist. I know I am the oddball on this forum, but I love all things techno. Here is my techno godfather:
Seen him several times. He's awesome in concert.
But, then I really love some older stuff, too. I think of this as having the Norfolk sound:
And here is my, OFFICIAL "I've had 5 beers song". (Don't ask, long story.)
And, just check this the hell out. I hurt watching it:
And, because I am a Southerner:
I think I have just proven that I am a schizophrenic. Really, I love ALL music except for gangsta wrap and pop country- and, opera.

I HAVE to include this one, too. Watch the hipster on the right. He is taking full advantage of his 15 minutes of fame! The camera eventually finds him and he steals the show. I love these old videos!!

Okay, Tela, see what you went and did now?
There are so many great styles of music, artists and songs. There's no way I can pick out just one favorite.
After careful consideration, I narrowed it down to just two:
And a close second:
I guess I settled on these two because I just heard them this morning. They are in my iPod lineup when I walk. It also says something about what I think of conditions in the world these days.
I'm sure there will be at least one more I'll have to add, too, lol.

Great songs! Yeah, my favs change by the hour. One of the ones I want at my funeral is by the Hollies. It is consistently in my top 10. It kinda sums up how I feel about DH. I'll miss him when I am gone.
As chance would have it, I am trying to figure out how to hook up my new subwoofer to my new receiver right now. I think I need a flippin' degree! My old Onkyo died. Got a Yamaha this time. Never had one- 'sposed to good. We'll see. Best stereo system I ever had was a Hitachi. Can't get them anymore. Hopefully, I can figure this mess out myself. I already have the 3 Infinity speakers hooked up. Just gotta figure this subwoofer out, and then get the fronts hooked up (need more wire, though).

How bout a little Zeplin ?
Or if you're old enough to remember him, Stan Freberg.

1dave You picked some extreme gems there! Love it! I had never heard the Acker Bilk before. Very nice. Reminded me somehow of Fleetwood Mac's "Hypnotized" with Bob Welch. jakesrocks I always preferred Black Dog, but, of course, I love "Stairway to Heaven", too.

rockjunquieHi Tela did you figure out you sub? is it a single jack plug in? Yamaha good stuff ! how many watts is your amp? m stly Howdy Ed I went to visit my daughter today and left the speakers for tomorrow. It looks like one rca jack. It's only 50 watts. The smallest I could find. I didn't want anything big. My place ain't that big! I had a killer sub years ago, but it was too much power for me. Gave it to my son. I'll figure it out.... edit- the sub has more connections than the one pin but that is all I need on the receiver end.

Hi Tela are you saying your sub is only rated at 50 watts or your amp is 50 watts? mostly ? The sub. I don't want to really thump. My neighbors would hate me. I just want some filler bass for music. That whole album is on Youtube. I'm playing it now. Trippy.

yep that thumping can be.... new groups exaggerate that in the studio for the sub woofer it was never a thing in classic rock
although John Entwhistle or Chris Squire could certainly thump a bass line

Some of my favorite stuff. I generally avoid top-40 hits...there's so much great music outside of that...
Sorry so many - I could post so many more!
