J Geils was fun in the mid-late 70s, but I was never a huge fan so missed out on their earlier stuff until recently. Before they decided they wanted to make lots of money, they were an excellent blues band. This blew my doors clean off.

Centerfold will always be a song that brings back memories, but their early stuff was amazing. They actually started out as Snoopy with the Sopwith Camels (who became just Sopwith Camels) They played with some greats in the the early 60's, BB King, Johnny Winter & more When he went to school in Boston they joined up with a couple members of the Hallucinations (Peter Wolf) and they switched sounds, then kinda went down hill IMO when they went commercial He really was a talented guitarist. |
