rockpowell is slabbing Picasso again!  In addition to the silver that provides the black, there is copper for the blue-green. The other side of the slabs:

1dave, where does that come from? I know they mine quite a bit of alabaster in Utah but not sure about marble. Jim

Jim The mines are all played out now and if you find any good pieces you have to Dig for the little that is left. The only place this comes from in near Minersville Utah We make a trip up there once a year and just dig, maybe find several good rocks with a good pattern. |

Beautiful material, 1dave & rockpowell.  Very sad that Picasso Marble is almost mined out. Interesting about the copper and silver! Stupid question alert - is that copper in the center of the cut piece in the 1st photo at the top/center? |

It would certainly make sense to find copper carbonate in calcium carbonate. May I offer that even 1% Copper salt will stain the marble and thus could be any copper salt that approximates that color.
