I have been playing with my saw a lot lately because I made a jig that allows me to cut the slabs perfect almost every time without a vise. I was cutting a chunk of Patriotic agate and found that this particular piece was nicer than the previous ones. Here it is- + Here is the other side of it- I cut another slab and the back side was quite different. I don't have a pic of it. The back side looked just like this slab- reverse-

Whoa! Those look like a spectacular surprise judging from the crust. Where is that agate from?

OK, Here is my main 10 inch saw. Notice how it has no vise? That is because the vise that came on it is a triangular pile of crap that spits the rock out half way through the cut, assuming you can get it to be stable in the first place. I taught myself to cut without a vice freehand and I am pretty good at it. However, I am not perfect, in spite of what all of my women say. Sometimes I lose track and have a slab that id 3/8 on one end and 1/4 on the other. So I made a jig that fits down into that slot between the table top and the sump grove. After I got it fit and square, I trimmed it back so that the space between the blade and the block of wood makes a slab somewhere near 3/8.

Beautiful agate. A simple hand hold sliding on a guide does well.Photo ?

"All of my women"
Mark, please don't feed such easy jumping off points.
I am still trying to find you a rosy boa. I have spent an hour in prime time this year. Nothing yet.
