I liked the themes too, and this one seemed pretty easy to work within (except plumes!).
Maybe a theme can come back in the future. The Fall colors sounded promising.
No theme might get the ball rolling for now.

You gonna enter your plume if Glenn drops the theme Don? I don't cab, but I miss seeing all the entries every month! And why not??? That's no excuse!
Yay Don, you can enter your plume!
I most likely will not be able to get one done and entered this month. It is too friggin' hot, and I just cleaned up my flat lap and put it away for now. Will bring it out and set it back up as soon as I can. (Yeah, I guess I'd rather go fishing than cab, lol.)

Maybe as a compromise, the themes can be more of a suggestion than a strict requirement. That way, it gets the benefit of creative juices flowing and people working with perhaps unusual material, without excluding anyone who doesn't have that kind of material. It's too bad I didn't take any pictures of the slabs or preforms before I started! Oh well, must make more.

My two cents....some of you that are really really good cabbers enter some seriously awesome cabs into the contest! It is intimidating. But then again, if you guys don't enter, I don't know if anyone else will?!?
I would like to but just don't have access to the polishing equipment at the moment. Someday.....
I would really like to see this get active again. And I would like to see some more of those creative contests some people come up with. Like the "Guessing" ones!
Cheerio! ~Roland

If ya'll get this thing going I will donate a box of thulite slabs for next month to keep the momentum up. I still have way too many rocks and thulite makes up a fair portion of them. I started slabbing more of it yesterday so they are easier to give away/sell. I will have some photos up in the slab section of all I have been cutting lately. Jim

Well, glennz01 I really thought I would have mine done. But, I never got Gene out to finish the bottom edge and I can't put it up with a chippy edge. I can't believe time has passed so fast!!! Good luck everyone!
