'bout time! That is some killer obsidian! Is that the stuff that has clear areas? I think I've also seen that called midnight lace obsidian. (?) I'm no obsidian expert, so can you explain to me why it's called "double flow" and the difference between that and the midnight lace stuff? < font = curious >

There are about three different names tagged on Mahogany Obsidian....Midnight Lace is another type of Obsidian too...Also Silver sheen,Rainbow,Snowflake,etc..... The Mahogany is from the black Obsidian flow area,a bit lower in the formation(as it looks like to me).. As myself too,I'm still educating myself with the stuff....

Awesome!!! Definitely worth gettin' er done! I'm confused. Are the 1st 2 pretties "triple flow" or "double flow," Fossilman? ETA: Is it triple flow mahogany obsidian that has the mahogonany and dark obsidian with clear areas?

Add in clear areas and I would call it triple flow if all three are there. The rainbow and the different sheens are something else, probably different minerals that reflect light. What I have seen called midnite lace is the black and clear mixed together. It is always nice to view.
